About Adib Jawad

How learning, technology, climate research, and IT support come together in the work I do now.

Currently focused on accessible digital learning, climate literacy, and the new foundations of educational technology.

← Back to home

I study how digital tools shape learning — what makes them useful, what makes them inaccessible, and what happens when technology is introduced without enough attention to people, context, or purpose.

My path runs from disaster science and climate resilience into curriculum, learning design, and educational technology. That interdisciplinary background helps me look at learning systems from both the human and technical sides.

My research has examined gamified climate-education platforms, AR/VR for environmental learning, digital learning during crisis, accessibility and representation, and the emerging role of AI and hybrid video in education.

I also bring hands-on IT support experience. I care about the research question, the classroom reality, and the systems underneath both.

Hobbies

Mechanical Keyboards

I enjoy the tactile and auditory experience of building keyboards. Sourcing the right switches, lubricating them by hand, and tuning stabilizers turns the tool I use for 10 hours a day into a tailored experience.

Hiking & Outdoors

Being a disaster scientist means studying nature on a macro scale, but hiking lets me appreciate it on a micro scale. Getting away from screens and walking through the wilderness is my favorite way to reset my brain.

Narrative Gaming

I have a deep appreciation for video games as a storytelling medium. Games that blend incredible soundtracks with strong narrative choices are my go-to for winding down.
